Here’s the kicker: Vin-Chet is a 100% gluten free bakery BUT, as their loyal customers would tell you, you can’t even taste the difference!
Fun fact: Vin-Chet Bakery was the very first bakery in our area to offer gluten-free baked goods. Sure, there’s lots of gluten-free options out there, but finding ones that are just as tasty as foods with gluten is still rare.
Luckily, that’s Vin-Chet Bakery’s specialty.
It all started with one request from one customer back in 2007. Since then, they have grown to serve more than 10,000 loyal customers.

Here’s the full backstory.
Vin-Chet Pastry Shop began in 1946 by Vincent Spampata & Chester Matuszak featuring fine Italian & Polish pastries, cookies & cakes.
Fast forward to 1998 —Joseph Mangano purchased Vin-Chet Pastry Shop and continued the tradition started by Vince & Chet while expanding the shop into Orchard Park in 2003. In 2006, to gain even more exposure, Vin-Chet Pastry Shop began to wholesale its most popular coffee cakes & pies to local markets.
When a friend was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, the owner Joseph Mangano started experimenting with gluten-free recipes to see if he could make something with the same quality of taste and texture found in traditional bakery products.
There was a lot of trial and error, not-so-great tasting items, and very expensive mistakes along the way, but Joseph knew there was an answer. After many months of persistence, he made a loaf of bread that his whole non-celiac family enjoyed more than a regular loaf of white bread.

Joseph sold his first gluten-free bread out of the Orchard Park location in 2007 and never looked back.
In 2008 the Orchard Park location was closed to focus solely on gluten-free recipe development and production.
By 2014, the shop was rebranded to Vin-Chet Gluten Free Baked Goods and phased out the traditional pastries they’ve been making since the 40s to become a 100% gluten-free facility. They became fully certified by the Celiac Sprue Association, which is now known as the Gluten-Free Food Program.
Over the years, Vin-Chet has partnered with local supermarkets, pizzerias, and restaurants to offer some of the best gluten-free options around.

As their customer base grew, their menu followed suit. They now offer a full menu of baked goods at their retail locations as well as sandwiches, paninis, and subs, and cakes for every occasion. Pro tip: their Almond Ring Coffee Cake is a fan favorite!
Vin-Chet is constantly expanding their menu and looking for suggestions from customers (like you).
Whether you’re gluten-free or not, stop by their place and give their products a try. You can also stay in touch by joining their email list on their website!
